John J. Marschall had been brought to America from Bavaria, Germany,
about 1856, settling on Pine Street with seven brothers and sisters, mother,
and stepfather. He is pictured about 1905 with his family on IC History page 8. The first record of a resident priest in East
Aurora was Fr. Miller, C.S.S.R., who stayed with the Marshall family on Pine
Street 1864 to Easter 1865, on IC History page 9. John Marshall was a veteran of the Connecticut
Army in the Civil War. He was later a member of the volunteer fire
company called the East Aurora Chemical Company Number 1 in 1908 (IC History page 13). John J. Marshall, in 1905, was identified as an RD Carrier in the Post Office. Veteran of the Civil War. Location B1.

church bell, joining all the churches in the nation commemorating the 200th
anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (IC History page 60). He was a Lector at the dedication of the new church on
October 15, 1978 (IC History page 80). George was a member of the Parish

Samuels, 95, a longtime East Aurora resident and retired chemical operator for
Allied Chemical Corp.'s National Aniline Division, died Friday (March 16, 2001)
in Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg.
"His passion was music," said his son, Lyle A. of Tucson,
Ariz. "His love of the violin led him to a mastery of that instrument, and
a lifelong love and appreciation of classical music." Samuels was born in Buffalo and brought up in
Lewiston. He moved to East Aurora in the 1930s and worked for Allied Chemical
in South Buffalo for more than 34 years.
He was a longtime active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church
in East Aurora, serving as a parish trustee for more than 20 years. He also played violin for a time with the
Orchard Park Philharmonic, and was known in his East
Aurora neighborhood for the flowers his garden. Survivors besides his son include his wife of
64 years, the former Mildred M. Banzer; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at
9:30 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 520 Oakwood Ave.,
East Aurora.

YOUNGERS, Caroline Ess, 1864-30 May 1943, was born in Wyoming,
NY. She was the daughter of Nicholas Esse and Carolina Beier, and the
wife of Paul Powell Youngers. They had five children. She was the
mother of Charles, Frederick, Josephine, and Leo when they were living on
Paine, near Oakwood Avenue. By the 1920 census, Caroline was the head of
the household, then located on Oakwood Avenue. Living with her are her
daughter, Josephine Pike and Josephine’s children (Eleanor, Richard, Charlotte,
Gladys and Sanford) and her son Gerald (b. 1903?). In the 1940 census,
Caroline was a widow and lived alone in a home she owned at 564 Oakwood
Avenue. She collected rent from the Clarks who also lived at that
address. Josephine’s daughter Eleanor is Eleanor Clark, who was a renter

YOUNGERS, Josephine R., 1884-14 May 1970 (or 21 June 1883-14 May 1970), nee Juenker. She married
Frederick Youngers (1884-1951) on June 7, 1906, in East Aurora, NY. She
was a soloist in the parish for many years. She also filled in as an
organist for a time. Josephine Youngers attended the Catholic Daughters
25th anniversary banquet in 1948, (IC History page 37). She is pictured with the Catholic Daughters of
America East Aurora Sewing circle on IC History page 44 and in a local
newspaper clip. Location D4.

Frank
Zagrobelny
ZAGROBELNY, Francis E., 10
Aug 1939-25 Sep 2020. Frank was on the Finance Committee for the new
buildings in the mid-1970s. He was also pictured as a Eucharistic
Minister in 1978. Frank was a Certified Public Accountant, retired from
Ernst and Young (formerly Arthur Young & Company). He served for many
years on the Finance Committee at Christ the King Seminary, including time as
its Chairperson. He was a charter member of the
Christ the King of East Aurora Council# 12829 Knights of Columbus, and served
for many years as its Financial Secretary, a position he held at the time of
his death. In 2014, Frank and his wife, Margaret, were honored by Christ
the King Seminary in East Aurora, N.Y., at the annual Curé of Ars Dinner. They
received the Curé of Ars award in acknowledgement of their dedication of time
and effort to help those in need, providing spiritual guidance, and having a
track record of giving back to the seminary. Francis is survived by his
wife Margaret (nee Ruddy), children James (Phyllis), Mark (Jill), Theresa (Tom)
Bone, Kathleen (Herb) Van Baren, Stephen, and Michael (Michelle) Zagrobelny. He
is also survived by his grandchildren Jazen, Christine, Patrick (Megan),
Jeremiah, Ellen (Jonathan), Megan, Sam, Zoe, Caroline (Zach), Tim, Margaret,
Jack, Zeb, Mary, Russell, Phoebe, Thomas, Bridget, Erin and Danyelle and
great-grandchild. Hi is also survived by his brother
August. Francis was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bronic, Thadeus, Stella, Helen, Joseph and Josephine.
